US DDGS production down 5% in September: USDA

US production of dried distillers grains with solubles fell 5% in September compared with August, but rose 5% from the same month a year ago, data from the US Department of Agriculture showed Tuesday.
The USDA, in its monthly Current Agricultural Industrial Report on grain crushings and co-product production, said dry mill producers created 1.96 million tons of DDGS in September. That compares to 2.07 million tons in August and 1.875 million tons in September 2015.
Dry mill producers also produced 134,269 tons of corn oil, compared to 142,000 tons in August and 1016,155 tons in September 2015.
